HealthMerch partners with health-focused organizations and programs across the United States to develop innovative and impactful outreach incentives. We walk each client through a "interview-style" process to fully understand what their challenge is, who their audience, and what the goals of the product is before we begin to make any recommendations or decisions.

Below are three key steps to take to help improve ROI on new programs and outreach efforts.

Step 1: Establish Goals First

This may seem obvious, but when you first down to kick off your strategy make sure to clearly define and identify the basics.

  • Who is your target audience
  • How do you plan to reach out to them?
  • What action do you want them to take?
  • How will you track that action?
  • What defines success?

Depending on the answers to each of these questions, you'll need to sit with your team to determine your exact Call To Action or CTA, your style of communication, and how you plan to measure success. The only way you will be able to accurately track your ROI is if you have outlined these questions and answers at the very start of your program.

How does this apply to custom promotional products? As you define each of these answers, you'll need to keep your promotional products in mind.

  • What does your program logo or aesthetic look like? Is it simple enough to be replicated across all of digital, social, and physical customized promotional products?
  • Have you considered custom product design and production time into your schedule?
  • Is your CTA concise and simple enough to fit on a waterbottle or a popsocket?

HealthMerch can help you and your team dive into all the details of your program by asking the right questions to make sure that your program runs seamlessly.

Step 2: Simplify Your CTA

Your "Call to Action" should be simple and straight forward. Whether you're asking your community to schedule an appointment, visit your website, or make a donation, ensure that your CTA is the most visible and obvious.

In the design below, you can see the call to action here is incredibly straightforward, "As me about PrEP". This enables any clinician and PrEP peer to peer coordinator to silently remind patients to ask questions about their own care and treatment.

Step 3: Create Something Custom

For new and reoccurring  campaigns should always have a unique tracking mechanism. From tailored UTM tracking or bit.ly links to a custom hashtag, voucher code, there are many ways to identify how your new client followed the CTA. Additionally, QR codes are an easy way to get clients directly to the URL of your choice without having to worry about typos or user error. Simply point, snap (a photo), and you're directed to the correct location. This can also be done for social media as well.

Aside from social, you can also create custom tracking links called UTM links. These links will allow you to better understand where your website traffic is coming from through Google Analytics. To learn more about UTM links and how to create them, visit the links below.
